New birds at the Animalarium

We have had several species of bird arrive here this summer.  The Azure winged Magpies and the partridge are in a new Aviary next to the Demoiselle cranes by the Car park.  Thes intelligent and inquisitive birds are most amusing to watch as they forage and dig the ground for insecr food.

The Sandhill crane is one of the largest of the cranes and he is a very confident and noisy bird.  We are looking for a mate for him.  He is in the duck pond area where he has plenty of space for display.

We are building a new enclosure for a pair of Currasow which will be arriving soon.
