We have used a special camera to photograph the Conure chicks in their nestbox. There are five of them and we are very pleased and excited. We are taking special care with their diet in hopes that she will rear all five. These very endangered birds rely on breeding in captivity in order to increase their numbers. Last year another zoo produced chicks in an off display aviary. Our chicks have been produced by a pair of on display conures and our chicks are unrelated to the others so there is a real chance that these young birds will pair and produce more individuals.
